We recently took a field trip to the Tour Ed coal mine in our community, We were able to take a tour down into the mine. Throughout the tour we were told a vast amount of information about the mine and how it was run. As a class I want to create a log on this field Trip. I am going to post questions here for everyone to answer so we can use this information to help create our log. Use your handout to help answer the questions.
1. What year did the mine open and being operation?
2. How dark was it down in the mine when working?
3. What did the miners mine for?
4. How did the coal get out of the mine?
5. Was being a coal miner a tough job?
6. What was a typical Shift for a Coal miner?
7. How far did the mine stretch?
